The 2012 CONRAD Water Conference is dedicated to presenting technical, operational, and policy information on questions concerning oil sand process water, its use, and impacts of its use on the processing of oil sands, for both in-situ and open-pit mining recovery of bitumen and its subsequent upgrading or conversion to synthetic crude oil.

The CONRAD Water Usage Workshop has, over the past decade, established a reputation for being the preeminent forum for discussions of issues concerning the use of water in the oil sand industry in Alberta.  Held every two years, this has become an important event for people in industry, research, academia, government, and the service, supply and technology sectors, to network and debate water challenges in the oil sand industry.
